MoMo Monday- Potty Time

You know those embarrassing pictures your mom took of you when you were little?

You know the ones of you going poo poo on the potty like a big boy/girl?

Well I'm pretty sure these pictures here are the feline equivalent

She makes the funniest face while dropping a deuce....but I'm sure I do too.  But lucky for me nobody is snapping pictures while I do it

Oh and for the record....I only took these pictures because I had the idea for this post.  I don't make a habit of taking photos of my dear child defecating.  Just thought I should be clear on that ;)

MoMo Monday- Go Wildcats!

I've mentioned this before....but The Boy is the only Wildcat in my family full of Sun Devils.  This past Saturday was the big rivalry game and they all went together.

Here's The Boy reppin his "A" while they can all go fork themselves ;)

Well.....the Wildcats got their booties kicked.  But being a Cardinals fan and a Wildcat you get used to these kinds of things lol

BUT....either way he had MoMo at home cheering along with him. Here she is posing for a picture with Wilbur

And laying on his U of A blankie watching a game

MoMo says..."Go Wildcats!"

MoMo Monday- Happy Turkey Day from a Turkey

Let me start off by saying that I have been waiting to write this post even since I started MoMo Mondays...what.....6 months ago?  It was one of the first ideas I had but I wanted to save it for the week of Thanksgiving and it has finally arrived

MoMo has many many nicknames.  There's bunny, buns, grey, Damo (Daw-mo), Shlomo, little love, and Turkey to name a few.

Why turkey?  Well look....

See it?

Perhaps you  need a comparison.  I don't mean like gobble gobble still running around turkey....I  mean sitting on your Thanksgiving table ready to be carved turkey

See it now?

Here's another.......

Are you getting the picture yet?

It's the way she tucks in her front paws like wings and those back hips of hers look like turkey legs....thus the name Turkey was born.

So on behalf of my little Turkey we wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving!  Be sure to pick up a can of turkey dinner for the furry love in your life

I'm so very thankful to have her unconditional love and cuteness.  I could do without the hairballs though.....but that's another post

MoMo Monday- Anniverary

Yesterday was me and The Boy's 2 year wedding anniversary.  But all the cat owners out there know that it's a cats world and we just live in it.  So in MoMo's semi self centered bubble she doesn't think of this day as the wedding anniversary of her parents.

No, no.  She thinks of this day as the anniversary of the day this picture was taken of her.  Looking so little and baby like

I know I've told this story before...but I don't care.  After our reception was over and before we headed to the after party at my inlaws house me and The Boy rushed home to see her.  We missed her so much that day and had to go see her for a just a minute.  I ran into the house and immediately went and smothered her in kisses...still in my wedding dress.  I love this picture of us so much.  She looks so little and cute...and sleepy.  I selfishly picked her up out of a dead sleep.

Oh MoMo....I love that damn cat.  Happy 2 years to my cute little family!

MoMo Monday Halloween

I attempted  to take a Halloween photo shoot with a tutu and a little witches hat I whipped up out of felt....but most of the pictures went something like this

This was the best I could get

Have a happy and safe Halloween from MoMo and myself!

MoMo Monday- PETicure

I think I spoke too soon in last weeks post.  I talked all about how well MoMo had adjusted to becoming a full time indoor cat.  Well in typical fashion as soon as I flapped my big ole mouth...the very next day she was trying to get out.

This whole spring and summer since she's been indoors MoMo really never showed any interest in trying to get out...but I think it was because she knew it was hot outside.  I swear that now she knows the weather is nice and she wants in on that action.  The other night I was taking out the garbage and normally I can leave the door open without her walking out....but this time she scooted her way out .   I ended up falling asleep on the couch by accident and woke up at 2 am to the sounds of her scratching at the weather striping of the front door.  Then she made her way over to  her now covered doggy...ummm...I mean "kitty door" and she scratched at that too.  I knew that if this scratching thing was going to continue I had to do something about it to salvage our stuff.  Sooo.....I brought back the nail caps

I used to buy them a few years ago....but since she was indoor/outdoors back then they would fall off sort of fast and I stopped buying them

Now that she's all indoors I think they'll stay on better.  It will keep her from ruining anything if she decides to get all scratchy again.....but the added bonus is that she looks super cute with her PETicure.   I love puns....they're punny

Such a classy little lady

MoMo Monday Week #23

MoMo was a stray when she showed up and claimed me as her mother.  And for a little while my mom insisted she stay outside and not be allowed in (I was 16 at the time)

After a little time she started coming in the house and was about 50/50 indoor outdoor.  As the years went by she spent more and more time inside and hit about 80% indoors.  She would go outside to go potty, sun herself for a few minutes, then make her way back in through the doggy door. I never really worried though because she hardly ever ventured past our backyard. So while she preferred to be inside most of the time she still had the freedom to go out if she wanted.

That was until this past spring she gave us a big health scare and had to have surgery.  They said she needed to stay inside for at least 3 weeks but I decided right then and there it was time to make her indoors full time.  It was coming soon anyway and even though she never ventured too far from home I was ready to put my  mind at ease of anything ever happening to her. That very night the doggy door was covered up and a litter box was bought.  The rest is history.

She adjusted to her new indoor life really well.  We had little to no problems with scratching or meowing.  At times though you could see her missing the outdoors and that's when she goes and hangs out in the window

And that seems to satisfy her. But the other day I decided to treat her to a little outside time....with me supervising of course.  I was going outside to spray for bugs and let her follow me around

I managed to snap this picture.  She looks so tranquil...like she's reminiscing about the old days

MoMo Monday Week #22

In a previous MoMo Monday post I talked all about how MoMo and I have a morning routine.  She comes into the bathroom and keeps me company.  One of the new things she's started doing is to jump up onto the edge of the shower and stick her head between the inner and outer shower curtains.

All that would stick out was her little butt and she would get so mad because I would poke her and scare her.  She would give me a "scolding" type meow.  She finally got wise and now she pokes her head out of the curtains instead of her booty.....now she can see me coming

MoMo Monday Week #21

Me and The Boy are aware that being as cute as MoMo is a 24 hour a day job.  It's tough work and somebody has to do it and she pulls it off with finesse.

But really.....shes's home all day....couldn't she pitch in and do a thing or two around the house?

You would think that being the big Disney fans that we are that by now she would have picked up on some of the things the animals in Snow White do

Instead me and The Boy keep dropping subtle hints saying stuff like

"Look MoMo! Isn't it cool how the animals do the dishes. You already lick the plates like the deer does"

They even dust

And do laundry

But I don't think she's getting it because I keep coming home to the same piles of laundry from when I left and her lounging around like this

And this

At least she's cute

MoMo Monday Week #20

Crazy pet owner alert

Ever have those days where you look at your pet and you are just so overwhelmed by how much you love them?  I mean of course I love her every second of every single day, but every once and a while it comes at me full force

I look at this little face

and I'm so happy that she is mine.  Funny how a little 7lb bundle of fur can make such an impact on you.  She may never "talk" but she most certainly communicates and has such a little personality.  You always know what this little girl is thinking....it's written all over her face just like me

I also find it amazing how intuitive pets can be.  How when you are sick or sad they are always right there.  MoMo has gone so far as to stand on me and lick my tears away when I am sad.  Such a little sweetie

Another funny story about her, she doesn't like to make anybody feel left out.  One day The Boy was sitting on the couch and I was sitting on the love seat across the room.  MoMo came running in and passed me without really seeing me.  She ran straight for her daddy to give him some loving licks and head bumps.   At one point she turned and saw me sitting there.  She immediately jumped down and ran over to me to do the same.  It's as if she was making sure things were even lol   She ran back and forth between us for a few minutes.   Such a thoughtful little feline.  Things like that will make me never understand people who just think of pets as animals....they are family!

I love my little baby

MoMo Monday Week #19

So me and The Boy are big Saturday Night Live fans.  In fact I have dreams of being a cast member....but I'm thinking the odds of that happening are slim to none. Nerdy girls from Arizona who are obsessed with their cat and working a day job as a cook aren't exactly on Lorne Michaels radar.  It's a shame really......I would love to join the likes of great women like Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Kristen Wiig.

Now here I am rambling about crushed dreams....  Ok, so like I said me and the boy are huge fans and every so often we go back and watch seasons over again.  Even if we've seen it a hundred times.

Recently we were in a run through of season 30.  We were laying in bed watching with MoMo perched on my chest.  A hilarious sketch came on about a girl bringing home a date and before they start "necking" she insists on introducing her baby.  This baby is her dear cat Franklin, played by Fred Armisen in a cat costume.

Franklin is crawling all over their laps completely distracting and annoying her date and of course meowing constantly.  As soon as "Franklin" began to meow MoMo started FREAKING OUT!  Her ears perked up, her eyes went crazy, and MoMo looked PISSED!

She legitimately thought there was another cat in the room and began looking around for it.  So kudos to you Fred Armisen.....you portray an excellent feline.  You've got the meow down!

Here's a link to the video.  Cat lovers will for sure laugh

MoMo Monday Week #18

This weekend I learned that MoMo is even more like a human child than even I had ever realized. I mean I knew....she's definitely more human than typical cat.....but she really proved it this weekend

Here in AZ we don't get much weather besides hot, hotter, and scorching, so as you can imagine a big storm the other night was a little out of the norm for us.

It was about 4:30 AM and both me and The Boy were laying awake in bed and talking because we had been woken up by thunder.   Suddenly there was another HUGE clap of thunder,....louder than I have ever heard in my entire life, followed by the sounds of an instant down pour.

It was at that exact moment that from down the hall we heard a "jingle jingle jingle" as MoMo came running into our room, jumped up on our bed, and nestled herself between the two of us.  Just like a scared little kid

I love that damn cat!

Later that same day she proved her baby qualities yet again.  She was laying on my chest in bed and The Boy covered the top of her with our comforter.  I decided I wanted to sit up so I swaddled her in the blanket like a baby and sat up holding her in my arms like an infant....thinking of course that any second she would jump out.   15 minutes later.....I was still holding her.

Who knew she would love being swaddled so much?

I managed to snap a few pictures.  They look like she is just laying in blankets, but that's because I took aerial shots from about the height of my head.  But just keep in mind these are of her being held up against my chest

She should tide us over in the kid department for a few more years.

MoMo Monday Week #17

I've been a little MIA lately in the blogging world.  Like 13 days worth.  Which kinda makes me an el sucko blogger

But if you follow my blog at all...I'm sure you've heard me bitching about my job.  And I'm about to get whiny again....just a forewarning

My job has been on a steady downhill trend for just over a year.  But every time I think it's as bad as it could possibly get it just keeps getting worse.  Right now I'm at a crossroads...on the verge of a mental breakdown I'm sure.  My sister stated it perfectly in a text to our friend "We need to get Whitney out of there before we are visiting her in prison"

It's bad.  Like REALLY BAD.

Like lay in bed all night thinking about it bad

Dreaming about it....or I guess that qualifies as a nightmare actually

Like it's 11AM on my day off and I don't have to be there until 8am the next day and I'm already dreading it kind of thing

Like I get nauseous thinking about it and can't eat

I'm losing weight (the one upside of all this nonsense)

And I'm getting terrible shit cramps over it

Imma thinking your job isn't supposed to make you physically ill.....or is that just wishful thinking on my end?

Anywho....here are some job related ecards that made me chuckle

Word.

Anybody in the Phoenix area looking for a personal chef/house manager/grocery shopper/ crafter/ party planner/ DIYer/ nanny?

I'm serious too.  I have no shame in whoring out my skills on my blog  ;)

Anywho.....like I've stated before, with work being so rough I come home utterly exhausted at the end of the day.  And on top of that I was hired to do a kids birthday party so what little energy I did have at the end of the day went into party planning.  Now that the party is over I'm hoping I'll have a little more time to blog.   I make no promises though

Now back to our regularly scheduled programing .....

After 16 straight weeks of MoMo Mondays I missed my very first one last week.  I have to admit it really bummed me out.  I'm hoping it doesn't happen too often

Most of America out there is counting down the days until the start of football season.  While I'm not exactly counting down the days....I don't mind the start.  I'm not into the sport but I won't pass up the gatherings of family and friends to eat some good grub.  What's not to like about that?

When me and The Boy were dating I put in my time the entire first season.  I sat on the couch with him and watched every. single. game.  I can't do that now....it drives me CRAZY how often they stop the game.  It makes me itch.  Nothing lasts more than 10 seconds before they go to commercial AGAIN.  I hate it.

Lucky for me though, as I stepped out little MoMo stepped in.  She will sit with her daddy and watch football all day with him.  Here are the pictures to prove it

Way to go MoMo!  Just a little daddy daughter bonding time
